The Gorch Fock is the sail training ship where the new cadets are currently trained of the German Navy. It was built at the Blohm and Voss shipyards in Hamburg based on the plans of the earlier model from 1933. It was launched on August 23, 1958 and its home port is in the city of Kiel.
