Takopi's Original Sin, also known as Takopi no Genzai in Japanese, is a Japanese web manga series written and illustrated by Taizan 5. The manga has been published on Shueisha's Shōnen Jump+ web platform between December 2021 and March 2022, and its chapters have been collected into two tankōbon volumes. In France, Pika Édition is responsible for publishing.

The story follows a squid-like creature known as the Happian who leaves his home planet with a desire to spread happiness across the universe. He lands on Earth, but soon finds himself in danger of captivity by its inhabitants. Fortunately, he is found by a little girl who does not smile, named Shizuka Kuze. She feeds him and names him Takopii. Feeling indebted, Takopii decides to do everything in his power to make Shizuka smile.
However, the task is easier said than done. Shizuka is bullied by her classmates, she has no father, and her mother is never home, though the seriousness of these issues escapes Takopii's naivety. Despite everything, Shizuka has a source of happiness: her dog Chappy. The connection between Shizuka and Chappy only reinforces Takopii's desire to make the girl smile.
As Takopii's attempts to cheer up Shizuka lead to unintended consequences, he's determined to take matters into his own hands (or rather, tentacles), test his understanding of human beings, and achieve his goal of spreading happiness.
