Who is Holo in the "Spice and Wolf" series?

Feeling abandoned by the villagers who have forgotten her existence, she joins the traveling merchant Kraft Lawrence to return to her distant home, Yoitsu. Holo is known for her intelligence, her valuable help in business affairs, her love for apples and beer.

As the villagers gradually abandon their beliefs in the wolf deity Holo, Lawrence, a traveling merchant, discovers Holo in his cart and agrees to accompany him on his journey home.
