Product description : Josef Stalon JS-2
In February 1943, to replace the now obsolete KV tanks, the first prototypes of heavy tanks intended to equip the Red Army's armored units were produced. The most famous of the tanks designed to counter the new heavily armored German vehicles, such as the Tiger and the Panther, was the Joseph Stalin JS-2. Armed with a powerful 122 mm gun installed in a centrally mounted turret, it was characterized by a cast steel hull, heavy armor and the adoption of a V12 diesel engine of over 600 hp. The total weight of the tank was 46 tons. It was used in the fighting in Ukraine, Hungary and, in the final phase of the conflict, in the Battle of Berlin. It was one of the most powerful tanks used by the Soviet Union during World War II. Military model kit - to be assembled and painted - Paint and glue to be bought separately
