The Smurfs are a series of Franco-Belgian comic strips created in 1958 by Peyo (real name Pierre Culliford). The Smurfs are small, human-sized blue creatures who live in a village hidden in the heart of a forest. They are known for their peculiar language, in which the word ""smurf"" is used in place of any other word.
