How do you choose the scale of a model?

Model making is a hobby that develops creativity, patience and an interest in history. It's important to know that scales represent the size of the model. When you create your own miniature models, it is possible to reproduce a model to the desired scale. This is one of the biggest advantages of model making, and not the least.

However, certain scales are self-imposed, depending on the model to be reproduced in miniature. If you want to build original large-scale models such as large ships or a city, you need to opt for large scales. However, for original models of more modest dimensions, you should opt for small scale.

Apart from the reasons mentioned above, there are other criteria for choosing a ladder, not least location. A large space allows the model to be positioned correctly and more details to be added.

How do you choose between a 1/72 and 1/76 scale model?

A scale of 1/72 means that the size of the model is 72 times smaller than that of the real object. In other words, if the original object is 1,440 centimetres long, a 1/72 scale model is 20 centimetres long.

Unlike 1/76 models, 1/72 models are the most widely available on the RC modelling market. So you'll have more choice if you opt for 1/72 scale, especially if you have a preference for a particular miniature model.

The 1/72 scale has been adopted as one of the standards for different types of model themes, namely:

● 1/72 scale aviation models are miniature representations of historic aircraft such as: the rafale aircraft, the concorde aircraft, the airliner, the Airbus A400M, and the alpha jet.

● Spacecraft are currently very much in vogue. A wide range of 1/72 scale space models are available on the market.
