Product description : Ford Escort RS1800 Mk.II Lombard
Model car Ford Escort RS1800 Mk.II Lombard
The Ford Escort Mk 2 was launched on the market in 1975. It was a decisive evolution from the Escort Mk 1 presented at the 1968 Brussels Motor Show.
Of the previous version retained the mechanical high quality but was completely revised in the design that interpreted the aesthetic and stylistic taste of the 70s.
In addition to the more functional versions, there was also an Escort Sport version characterized by a more aggressive look and a markedly sporty interior.
Finally, the RS 1800 version was also presented with a 115 HP twin cam engine, which was the basis for the special version used in the World Rally Championship and which obtained significant results.
From 1975 to 1979 the Ford Escort RS 1800 won for five years in a row the prestigious RAC (Royal Automobile Club) Rally, the most important rally event organized in the United Kingdom and an important stage of the World Rally Championship.
Scale : 1:24
The 1:24 scale is mainly used for models of cars, motorcycles and aircraft.
It allows a high level of detail.
For example, a motorcycle model in the 1:24 scale will measure 4 inches / 10.4 cm if the original motorcycle measures 2.5m in length (250/24 = 10.41).
A plane in the 1:24 scale will measure 1 foot 6 inches / 45cm in length if the aircraft model is 11m long (1100-1124 = 45.8).
